Daniel HobbsAbout Daniel Hobbs

First and foremost, Hobbsy is a journalist. His passion for language has seen him practice his craft in the professional arenas of politics, media, communications and small business. As a wordsmith he is just at home writing news stories as he is producing website content or training others in media skills.

Country born and bred, Hobbsy is committed to community and small business. He worked for former state Opposition Leader, Lawrence Springborg, and went on to become media and political advisor to Senator Barnaby Joyce.

Discerning that many smaller and rural organisations were being left behind in the mad maze of contemporary communications, Hobbsy employed his 'make it happen' attitude and founded www.hobbsy.com.au offering niche media and communication support. He strives to empower his clients through simple and targeted communications and business development strategies.

Since the launch of the service, many clients have enjoyed the benefits of Hobbsy's straight talking, down to earth attitude and valued greatly his grassroots, holistic approach and simple, cost-effective communications.

Not one to rely entirely on commercial experience, Hobbsy has backed up his skills with a number of qualifications including:

  • Master of Journalism (MJ)
  • Advanced Diploma of Journalism
  • Diploma of Freelance Journalism
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment

Hobbsy is also an Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and actively involved in his community and the not-for-profit sector.
